GANDALF
| As Gandalf the Grey, the powerful wizard was second only to Saruman the White of the Order of Wizards. It is Gandalf who leads the Fellowship until his loss in Moria at the hands of the fearsome Balrog. Gandalf's magical abilities are a great asset to the Fellowship, though he is also able to hold his own in a fight. After his cataclysmic battle with the Balrog, Gandalf returns to Middle-earth in the new guise of Gandalf the White. Now his powers are greater than ever before, surpassing even his old master Saruman. Gandalf rides Shadowfax, greatest of the horses of Rohan. Théoden gifted Gandalf with a horse of his own choosing and the wizard chose Shadowfax, who bore Gandalf through all manner of dangers on its swift legs during the War of the Ring. |
