CAVALRY
The rules for cavalry models have undergone a few interesting changes. Players controlling cavalry models may now choose freely between the best statistics for Strength, Attacks, and Fight skill. Thus, Warg Riders hit at Strength 4, representing the fact that it's the beast rather than the rider doing the fighting. Monstrous Mounts now work in combat exactly like other cavalry (which means they get the extra attack on the charge!), with the only exception that they can still knock down non-monstrous mounts.
Another important difference involves mounts with their own Fight and Attacks values (representing a ferocious animal or monster). If the rider of such a mount is killed, the beast is not automatically removed. Rather, it has a chance of testing against its Courage. If the test is failed, the mount is removed. However, if the test is passed, the mount continues to fight, guided by its murderous instincts.

The rules for Monstrous Mounts have been revised.

Good and Evil clash in the |
This new layout has been created with the intention of helping players collect forces that are themed, without obliging them to do so, as they are still free to pick and mix their models if they prefer.
Of course, we seized the occasion to alter a few points values and change a few profiles and special rules here and there. In doing so, we were guided by two overriding principles (which, oddly enough, occasionally conflicted with each other).
- Making the game more exciting and loyal to the book (see the new rules
for the Elven Rings and the new magical powers of Elrond, for example).
- Ironing out any problems and achieving a sleeker gaming experience.
This new version The Lord of The Rings Strategy Battle Game rules manual is essential for fans of the game. It offers you a great chance of getting all the rules and the entries for all the models in the range in one grand tome packed with hobby wealth. So, what are you waiting for?
