For both of these models, you will need a few materials to put them together. Because they are both heavy metal models, pinning them together is essential to making sure your miniatures stay together while gaming. Filling in the gaps with Green Stuff will make them look great as well. The chart below lists the materials you'll need to assemble Buhrdûr and Gûlavhar.

ASSEMBLING BUHRDûR
It's always a good idea to first lay out the pieces you're going to be putting together. That way, you can make sure that you have all the pieces and can then decide what part you want to start on first. This article assumes that you have already cleaned all the flash off the model and filed down any mould lines. |
The next thing you will want to do is decide which piece you want to pin first. Pinning adds strength to metal models beyond what glue can offer. When pinning, you want to drill a hole in one of the pieces that will fit on the main body. In this case, the head. Be careful not to drill too deep, or you might drill all the way through by accident. |
Once you have a hole that will accommodate a short length of wire, take a paper clip or wire, and with a dab of super glue on the end, glue it into the hole. After the glue has set, snip the paper clip so that you leave a little bit of the pin sticking out of the model. |
Now you will need to drill a corresponding hole in the body. Before you do, mark the place where you are going to drill by placing the pin where it should go and pressing into the metal. This pressure will leave a mark on the metal that will help you guide your pin vise. |
After you have drilled the corresponding hole, place some super glue on the pin and the area you want to connect and glue the pieces in place. One they have set, this pinned reinforcement will create a very strong hold that wont come apart easily. |
It is also a good idea to drill all your pinning holes before you glue anything together. This way, you don't accidentally knock anything loose while the super glue is still drying. |
Above is Buhrdûr pinned and glued together. As you can see, there are several gaps which will need to be filled with Green Stuff. Follow the link below to see how.
