MAKING PALM TREES
In a land where only the hardiest of plantlife can grow, the palm trees of Khemri tower over man and monster alike.
Palm trees are very simple to make. Using a few easy to find elements, you could create a veritable jungle in very little time. Below we have illustrated how we came up with our own palm trees, but feel free to experiment and come up with some original jungle or desert foliage.

Jungle Plants were affixed to the top of a push pin with hot glue. You may have to cut up the aquarium plant in order to get the desired leaves. |

Now it is time to make the basic trunk using a length of copper or brass tubing. If you wish to have a slight bend in the tree, now is the time to gently do so. The top of the push pin was cut off and then attached to the end of the rod with superglue. |

The push pin and joint where it meets the rod was covered using modelling putty. Wait for the putty to dry a bit before proceeding. Then, using a strip of masking tape about 1/4 inch wide, the brass rod was wrapped in a downward spiral to simulate the bark. Move slowly so you don't bunch up the tape. |

We drybrushed the tree's leaves with a lighter shade of green and brown static grass was applied to cover the area with modelling putty using white glue. The trunk was painted brown and then drybrushed with a lighter shade. |
