On the weekend of August 3rd & 4th 2002, 159 Warhammer 40,000 players descended upon the amazing Warhammer World gaming arena to play in the Grand Tournament Heat One.

Overall the show was an immensely enjoyable and easy going affair, and praised highly for the quality of games play and armies in attendance.

Almost every Warhammer 40,000 army was represented at the show, something that Chief Referee Pete Haines noted with satisfaction, and it was a very great pleasure to go and see what players had on offer.

The Best Army competition was one of the high points of the weekend, showing eight of the finest forces during the Sunday lunch hour.

In addition, on Saturday night, competitors were delighted to be offered a range of activities, from a pub quiz through to a hero challenge game or a seminar with Andy Chambers.

Stopping only to grab a drink from Bugman's bar, the weekend was truly a hive of Warhammer 40,000 activity, bringing together some of the very finest players from the UK and many other countries.
