Now the 40K GT Season is up and running, 94 players took up the challenge to play for a place in the Grand Final in March 2006. In the end, 52 players qualified for the Grand Final. The top spot went to the Space Marine force of Stein Rodgers who fought off the challenge of Tyranids and other Space Marine chapters to win with 172 points, just 2 points clear of the nearest rival. Congratulations to Stein for the result and good luck in the Final. The painting skills of the players were also recognised with 8 nominations for the Best Army award. Paul Claridge's Chaos Space Marines were the clear winner with some impressive conversions of the main pieces of his force.
So, the first 52 players have been decided. If you want a chance to test your generalship skills and pit your wits against other players, or if you just want an excuse to play six games over a weekend with 159 likeminded hobbyists then there are two other heats coming up in October and November. Tickets are on sale now, so contact the Hobby Specialists on 0115 9140000 for more information.
Good luck to all those taking part in future heats and better luck next year to those who didn't qualify in Heat One.
