So the first of the GT heats began on the 16th August with sunny skies and 128 players completing their registration for two days of intense fun and fighting. This season we had changed the schedule to allow an extra game and give the players even more of a challenge. After the usual briefing Che Webster made his farewell as he handed over the reigns of Tournament Manager to me and then it was dice at the ready as battle commenced.
For two days, players fought for points in a true test of competitive gaming but ultimately there had to be an overall winner. The Italian contingent put up a great show and eventually came top of the pile with Alessandro Zerbini taking the trophy.
In the end it was a great event with a 128 like-minded players soaking up the atmosphere and camaraderie whilst playing games, eating great food and chatting about what they all know and love, the hobby.
