So, the first heat in the new Warhammer Grand Tournament season is now over. 101 gamers travelled from the UK, Italy, Denmark, Sweden and beyond, to play six games of Warhammer in the Warhammer World Gaming Venue.
There was a fantastic array of armies represented and the quality of the painting was such that ten armies were nominated for the Best Army Award. Congratualtions go to Jamie Forster for getting a clear majority of votes and winning this accolade.
At the end of the day though, this is a gaming event, and across the weekend Asger Granerud earned 107 Generalship points to take 1st Place in the First Heat. Well done Asger, and hopefully we'll see his Bretonnians in action at the Grand Final in February 2006.
Anybody who'd like to challenge Asger in the Final will have to qualify through one of the two remaining Heats in September (10th - 11th) and November (19th - 20th). There are still tickets available, so contact the Hobby Specialists on 0115 9140000 for more information.
Best of luck to all those who qualified through this heat, and for those who didn't, I hope you have better luck next time.
