Brian: It was in August 2005 that the first dice were thrown and now seven months later, after no less than 1542 games of Warhammer, we have a new Grand Tournament Champion. Michele Fontana fought through the mêlée with his Skaven and has again earned the accolade of Grand Tournament Champion. Congratulations to him and my thanks to all players who took part.

This season we have received a wide variety of feedback about the rules of the game, the tournament systems and the role of the event team on the day. This has been drawn together and, with the help of Jervis Johnson, Alessio Cavatore and Che Webster, is being moulded into the new Grand Tournament pack for 2006-7.

I can't say any more at the moment but suffice to say there'll be even more reason to read through the whole pack when it is published later this year.

BEST ARMY NOMINATION

Flying the flag for the Lady in this year's Warhammer GT final were Chris Oliver's Bretonnians, joint winner of the Best Painted Army award. Chris narrowly missed out on the prize in a tie-break but it was such a nice army we had to show it off.
