WHAT ARE TOURNAMENTS?
Tournaments are a test of your Generalship skills when matched against armies commanded by Generals of similar ability.
Tournaments are an opportunity to play games for a weekend, meet other like-minded players and in the process gauge your ability in terms of gaming results, sportsmanship, painting and rules and background knowledge. The side effect of this format is the competitive element and the Prestigious awards for Best Army, Best General, Most Sporting and of course the Tournament Overall Champion.
Different types of tournament have been created to allow a variety of players to take part.
The Doubles Tournament was designed as a fun event to allow friends or family to play together against two opponents and maybe experience tournaments for the first time.
Grand Tournaments are the pinnacle of Games Workshop tournament play. Players from all over the UK (and beyond) come to test their skills and challenge for the top spots. These events are based around restrictions regarding army size and content and follow a tight schedule to allow everyone the same conditions for play. With the structured approach to these events it is the Generalship skill that truly shines through to give us our Annual Champions.
