Painting the Lictor was fairly simple, since Pete wanted to blend it into the wall and its surroundings. He figured that a chameleon-like creature would have photo-sensitive scales all over its body, so Pete painted its claws and hooves the same as the rest. He planned on painting the wall like sandstone, with light grey gravel on the base. That gave him the colours for the Lictor. Pete painted the entire model with Snakebite Leather and then added slashes of Shadow Grey across the body. Obviously, he painted the ruins with the same colours. Then, Pete highlighted the Snakebite Leather with Bleached Bone, adding several lighter layers to blend the colours. He highlighted the Shadow Grey areas with Codex Grey and finally with some Fortress Grey.
