September 9th, 2006 – a date that will forever be recorded in the annals of time as the day the latest and greatest edition of Warhammer was unleashed upon the world! See for yourself how the launch weekend went.
his weekend saw the historic global release of the new edition of Warhammer and, in Games Workshop Hobby Centres all across the world, the epic battle of Skull Pass was re-enacted again and again; the sound of metal on metal, of sword ringing and shield splintering filled shopping centres, high streets and gaming halls the world over!
This is the time of battles,
and of glory, and of valour.

The Warhammer World team assemble, ready to meet the eager hobbyists waiting just outside. |
The Warhammer World store quickly fills and gamers make their way to the enormous pile of Skull Pass boxed sets and Warhammer Rulebooks. |
In amidst the action, the Warhammer World staff run introductory games of Warhammer with those new to the hobby. |

In the Great Hall, a painting a modelling area was set up allowing hobbyists who were just too impatient to get home to build and paint their models before taking them out onto the fields of battle. |

Throughout the day, the staff in the Great Hall of Warhammer World were on hand, playing games with hobbyists, answering questions and giving advice and tactics to any who wished to listen. |

In the store itself, gamers could play games on the Design Studio's very own Skull Pass table, as featured in White Dwarf and the Battle for Skull Pass website! |
Meanwhile, Alessio Cavatore, author of the latest edition of Warhammer and Gav Thorpe, fellow Warhammer writer and long-time Games Designer were on hand signing copies of the new Warhammer Rulebook as well as Collectors' and Gamers' Editions. |

OTHER HOBBY CENTRES AROUND THE COUNTRY
Hobby Centres across the country decked their floors, walls and ceilings with balloons, bunting and streamers, creating a real sense of occasion, enjoyment and party atmosphere. |

Ready for the big launch, the shelves were filled with copies of the new edition of Warhammer. |
Some Hobby Centres took the theming of their store, staff and gamers to the extreme! |

Rick Priestly, creator of the original Warhammer game visited stores, where he signed copies of the new game and answered your questions. |
Despite the early morning, Studio personalities, including our resident terrain-building guru Mark Jones, and Design Studio Manager Gabrio Tolentino made appearances at several stores to answer questions about Skull Pass, Warhammer and the hobby. |

It didn't take long before the contents of several Skull Pass boxed sets found themselves scattered haphazardly as frantic negotiations began between Dwarf and Night Goblin collectors began. |
A lucky few gamers even got to catch a glimpse of the forthcoming Orcs & Goblins army book, due out later this year... |
...While fewer still were fortunate enough to look at and even purchase the extremely limited and much sought-after Warhammer Collectors' Edition. |
Across a hundred battlefields in over a hundred Hobby Centres, bloody war is waged between the Dwarfs of the Skull Pass goldmines and the Night Goblins of the Crooked Moon clan. |
