SIMPLE HEDGES
Hedges are truly simple pieces of scenery to make. Use them in conjunction with a row of fences and walls, and you can surround you village with some nice looking obstacles!

"Bricks" of store-bought scouring pads can be found at supermarkets and hardware stores. They're easily separated into small pieces and, due to their texture, paint up nicely. |
Using heavy duty wire clippers, cut your scouring pads into smaller strips. Make sure that your miniatures can look over the top - unless, of course, you want to create a maze of hedges or totally restrict line of sight. We cut ours to a height of about an inch. |
After you have cut your hedge to a desired height, use good amount of wood glue to adhere the scouring pad to a small rectangular base. Spread some more glue around the rest of the base and dip the entire piece into a cup of sand. |
Once all of the glue was dry the model was undercoated with Citadel Colour Black Primer spray. That was allowed to dry and then the pad was drybrushed with varying shades of green. Choose a shade that most appeals to you. The base was drybrushed as well and static grass was sprinkled onto a few patches of white glue. That was easy! |
