MAKING SIMPLE WELLS
Making a well is not a tough as it may seem. It is really a simple matter of placing a bunch of stones in a circle and then piling them upwards. There are two step by step wells below; both are pretty easy to do, so why not give them a shot!

Using two part epoxy putty, mix up a long thin strip of putty. Cut off bits of putty and shape them into small bricks. Now, dig up a shaped piece of card or a 40mm round base for the well to be placed on. Build up a collection of bricks and begin stacking them on top of one another in a circular fashion while they are still a bit tacky. |

Leave the putty to dry for a few hours. In the meantime you can begin to make the bottom of the well. Here we chose to use the boiling blood bit from the new Witch Elf Cauldron of Blood. It makes for a perfect well bottom! However if you don't have the luxury of such a bit, texture the bottom of the well with some fine sand and allow it to dry. |

Paint your well and well bottom however you wish. If you made the well to be a separate piece (like on a 40mm base) then you can move it from place to place each time you play. Otherwise you can anchor the well in a table, hill, or other separate piece of terrain. |

Gather up some small stones from the street, garden, etc... Make sure they are not too big, unless of course you want to make a really big well! |
Using superglue, affix the stones to a 40mm round base or a shaped piece of card. Glue them one at a time in a circle, being careful not to get too much glue on your fingers! |

Primer your well black and then paint it up as you please. The addition of some static grass around the edges helps finish off the well... quite well! You now have a small well on a base that you can use over and over again for many scenarios. Another example of a well is shown to the right. It essentially follows the same steps as both of the wells above. The addition of some balsa wood, a piece of string, and a bucket really helps finish off this well. |
