These monstrous insectoids are a truly a terror to behold. They make their homes beneath the jungle floor and use their powerful claws to burrow deep into the earth in order to initiate a surprise attack on their prey.

The creatures are notoriously resilient. Those who have been fortunate enough to survive an encounter with one often tell tales of wounds inflicted on the Kalathrax Fiend closing up before their very eyes.

Rob Hawkins made this behemoth out of a wide selection of extra plastic Tyranid parts: Old One Eye's claws, a number of scything talons, and many Gaunt and Tyranid Warrior torsos.

The eyes are from from the ball socket off of the Tyranid arms, and the teeth are Tyranid Warrior Rending Claws. After a bit of Green Stuff was added to fill the gaps, this nasty customer was ready to rock!
