Lurking among steamy death worlds and even normal, temperate forests of the galaxy are the infamous Venus Mantraps. These massive plants sense nearby prey and send out long tendrils and roots to ensnare and then drag victims to their demise. Combating a Venus Mantrap is nearly impossible because it knows no pain and has unbelievably tough skin. The only saving grace of the monster is that it fills up quickly when feeding and will cease attacking when full!

Ty Finocchiaro created this creature after visiting an A.C. Moore craft store. Dried flowers make great killer plants since there is such a variety of weird pods and such out there.

This particular guy was made from a dried lemon with two thick dried leaves glued to the bottom of it. Plastic aquarium plants provided the base for the creature and Ty carefully sculpted a line of putty to represent the gaping maw to finish it up.

Watch your step, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
