WHAT IS WARHAMMER SKIRMISH?
This overview explains the basic concept of Warhammer Skirmish, its small-scale nature and its role in the world of Warhammer.
WHAT SKIRMISH CAN DO FOR YOU

Warhammer Skirmish is now available to buy from the Online Store. |
Why is Warhammer Skirmish so great? Maybe your army isn't that large yet or
you only have a small place to play and a limited amount of time to get a game
in. Skirmish helps solve all those problems. Using the Skirmish rules allows
you to explore the most evocative parts of the immense Warhammer world.
The best part of Warhammer Skirmish is that you can get started with whatever
models you have painted up. If you'd like to expand your collection, or just
have an excuse to paint a massive Dragon or a fearsome Chaos Knight, this is
your chance to make use of these models right away. Even better is the chance
to link smaller Skirmish battles together that finally coalesce into a mighty
game of Warhammer, all the while building on a satisfying story.

The Skirmish rules allow you to play battles between small forces of a dozen or so models. When you start playing you can decide who has the first turn, what scenery to use etc., by using the core Warhammer rules or by agreeing with your opponent first.
All Warhammer rules apply in a skirmish game apart from the exceptions and modifications given below. Mordheim: City of the Damned (available from Games Workshop's Mail Order and stores) provides a complete set of rules for skirmish battles set in the Warhammer world.
