Completing his series of Wood Elves tactics articles, Ken Kennedy moves away from the orthodox army lists in favour of something a little more 'specialised'.
We've discussed the troops and tactics for the Forest
Spirit army and the
Asrai army. Now I want to take a look at a completely unorthodox army concept
that I'll call the "Ambusher" army.
While many Warhammer armies are made up entirely of blocks of infantry and cavalry, the Ambusher army will have none of that! No large blocks of troops allowed – this army's focus is on manoeuvrable troops only. That means Skirmishers, Flyers, or Fast Cavalry.
The purpose of fielding an army of this sort is to stymie your opponent with your constant evasion and missile fire all the while setting up your troops for a cataclysmic charge upon the enemy.
